This workshop is designed to teach you the proper alignment necessary for safe inversions and other advanced poses. You will learn stabilization of certain parts of the body and work on strengthening the areas necessary to support your asana (posture) safely. Some of the poses we will explore are: Dolphin, Crow, Peacock, Tripod Headstand, Half Moon, Handstand.
Once alignment is created in the body, you have deeper access to the breath and understand what truly holds you back from moving forward in your path. Fear is a guiding emotion that can either make you stuck or empower you to a deeper sense of liberation!
Since Handstand brings you face to face with your insecurities and fears, it provides a wonderful laboratory where you can observe and work on overcoming such emotions. Inversions offer a controlled situation in which you can develop self-confidence, courage, and a somewhat playful and curious approach to solving challenges. They can increase your understanding and control of your body because they turn your world upside down and requires you to master an unfamiliar relationship with gravity.
This workshop is accessible to everyone with no major injuries. You choose which poses you want to explore and how far you want to go.
