Laura was born in Vancouver, and spent her 20's studying and working in various parts of Canada. She returned to Vancouver in the early 1990's to start her family and her career with the federal government. Significant health challenges in 2009 forced her to abruptly change her life. A yoga practitioner for many years, Laura returned to her yoga mat and began the slow process of reclaiming her health. Yoga and meditation were 2 of the tools she relied on heavily during her journey to wellness, and they taught her that in order to heal the body, you must also heal the mind and spirit.
Laura became a Hatha yoga instructor in 2010, and a Level 1 iRest Yoga Nidra instructor in 2014. She is especially interested in the benefits of yoga and meditation as adjunct healing modalities for trauma, stress-related injuries, and chronic illnesses. When Laura is not teaching yoga, she can be found knitting profusely, reading, walking, studying Spanish, and dreaming of travel.
