A wonderful way to release tension and really stretch out the body. Postures held for longer periods of time than in other hatha yoga classes. Yin yoga focuses on releasing connective tissue, and often involves the hips, pelvis and lower spine. Although Yin yoga can be challenging in itself due to the depth of the practice, it is an excellent complement to more active forms of yoga.
Suitable for everyone. Pregnant ladies who have previous yoga experience must get permission to practice yoga and inform us before class. No beginner expectant mums please :-)
The ‘yogic sleep’, Yoga Nidra is an ancient form of meditative relaxation which takes you to the point between consciousness and sleep where deep healing and significant positive changes can take place. It can help you overcome stress-related disorders and physical problems such as asthma, insomnia, hypertension, digestive disorders and depression. We’ll do some warm up movements to relieve tension and loosen up the body and then you lie in Savasana (on your back) and follow the teacher’s words through a guided meditation and visualisation. Taught in the Bihar School tradition.
Suitable for absolutely everyone.
